The best part of achieving a dream is celebrating with the ones you call family.
When Dustin Pierce graduated from high school on March 10, 2017, he was surprised to see some of his favorite people show up to cheer him on. Two Southwest Employees, Monique Townsend and Jose Rodriguez, entered the room with a balloon bouquet, gifts, and a poster signed by Southwest Employees.
To say that Dustin was ecstatic would be an understatement! Monique and Jose joined our family two years ago when they took Dustin, who was born with a serious heart defect, on a tour of all things Southwest in Atlanta to fulfill his bucket list dream of touching the Heart on the belly of the plane.
Jose and Monique, as well as other Employees, continued to show LUV by sending video messages and visiting the hospital when Dustin was rushed in for emergency pacemaker surgery several weeks later. A few months went by and they once again surprised Dustin with the trip of a lifetime to visit Southwest Headquarters in Dallas. Dustin is thrilled to be considered part of the SWA Family. He even had his graduation cake decked out like his favorite airplane!
Thank you for showing Dustin your heart full of LUV.
