At Southwest Airlines, our Heart is to take care of people because we are more than an airline; we are your neighbor. That’s why so much of our work centers on supporting our Employees, Customers, and community partners. We believe collaboration can advance our impact, so we partner with like-minded people and organizations to promote resilience and civility, in our communities. One of those organizations is Hawaii-based partner AccessSurf.
AccessSurf is a nonprofit organization whose programs focus on building a community of inclusion by providing people with disabilities access to the beach, ocean, and adaptive water sports. They host a variety of clinics such as adaptive surfing, swimming, and Wounded Warrior Days at the Beach. With our focus on creating inclusive communities and Hawaii’s passion for surfing, a partnership with AccesSurf was a natural connection.
We’re proud to partner with AccessSurf and support their impactful work through financial and in-kind support. Last year, it was an honor to provide complimentary flights for the Hawaii Adaptive Surf Team to travel from Honolulu to San Diego for the World Adaptive Surfing Championships where several team members took home medals.
