Southwest Airlines and Walt Disney World Resort have joined to celebrate the 50th anniversary that each brand marks this year. Today kicks off the celebration with a special co-branded commemorative aircraft that was unveiled in Houston, Texas. Leading up to the airplane reveal, Cast Members from Walt Disney World Resort performed iconic songs that celebrate the destination’s treasured history, including,  “The Magic is Calling,” the Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary anthem.

Such a nice plane! Can't wait to fly on it someday.

Both of the times we took our kids to Disney World we flew Southwest.  The first time was my daughter's first flight and the 2nd was my son's first flight.  They absolutely loved the flights.  My daughter was 2 on her first flight and we chose a late night flight so we could put her in her pajamas and she could sleep on the trip.  She loved being on the plane so much she didn't want to sleep.  Her head kept bobbing up and down falling asleep but her excited body kept trying to fight it.  Eventually the sleepiness won out.  They would be ecstatic if they were on the Disney plane.  I have a Southwest flight to MCO coming up next weekend.  I can't wait to see the new Disney content.

We have flown Southwest every trip we have made with our 2 girls.  I also flew Southwest with my parents when I got to go to Disney World when I was young.  It was my first time to fly and my Mom gave me motion sickness medicine in case I got sick, which resulted in my sleeping most of the flight:( My Daddy (who we lost this year to cancer) was so upset that I was asleep during much of the flight and missed "soarin" through the clouds.

We took my girls in 2004, 2016 and 2019 and have flown Southwest Airlines every trip from BNA to MCO airport.

We would be so grateful and thankful for the opportunity to fly in the Disney 50th Anniversary plane.
Thank you Southwest for helping make Disney World's 50th Anniversary as magical as the park and the Happiest PLANE on earth!

In June 2014, I flew 2 of my grandchildren, Ashley 10 & Robert 7, from Richmond, VA to Orlando, FL on Southwest Airlines. From the airport we drove to Disney World where we checked into our room at the All Star Music hotel and dropped off our belongings. Our next step was to drive to Tampa to pick up my youngest grandson, Parker 5. I flew Parker, an unaccompanied minor from Phoenix, AZ to Tampa, FL on Southwest Airlines! With all 3 of my grandchildren in tow, we stopped for a bite to eat and then headed to our All Star Music hotel room. We spent the most wonderful week at Disney World! My grandchildren had no idea what Disney World was so they never asked can we do this or that and our catch phrase for the week was, “ just go with the flow”! They loved all of the rides, but unfortunately Parker wasn’t quite tall enough for a few. We had a special meal with characters almost every day which they loved! This was absolutely a vacation to remember thanks to both Southwest Airlines and Disney World!❤️
