As a leading global citizen, Southwest Airlines has a longstanding commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve around the world. We are dedicated to doing the right thing for our People through our Performance and in service to our Planet. This triple bottom line approach is what helps make up our holistic approach to citizenship at Southwest. And there’s nothing that showcases our 2020 efforts better than the 2020 One Report—our annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.

Available now, the 2020 One Report highlights significant social, economic, and environmental events that occurred throughout 2020. As we all know, 2020 was quite the year! The 2020 One Report serves as a great reminder of what our Employees persevered through to support each other, our Customers, and our communities.

We take pride in our reputation as the airline with Heart and want to share that with the world. One way we can do that is by viewing and sharing the 2020 One Report. I encourage you to visit southwestonereport.com today and send it to your friends, and family!

  • Strengthening Our Commitment to the Environment
For years, we have evaluated and executed ways we can improve environmental stewardship across our airline. We have aggressive efforts in place to reduce our emissions intensity, manage waste, more efficiently use fuel, and repurpose materials to minimize impact on landfills. To learn more about these efforts and the exciting work ahead, check out this story.

  • Reporting Update
Since 2009, we have used the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards to guide our disclosures in the One Report. To continue providing our Stakeholders with the utmost transparency, 2020 marks the first time that we have linked the One Report to Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) standards. This is in addition to expanding our previous GRI reporting.

As we advance our citizenship efforts as a Company, we recognized that it was important to also enhance how we reported on these efforts. We are proud to share that the One Report now aligns to frameworks used by thousands of other companies around the globe. This change helps Stakeholders see the great work our Company and Employees are doing every day to advance our citizenship efforts. To learn more about these efforts, visit here.
