Covert Ops in a Southwest city tomorrow

lreynolds
Frequent Flyer A

I’ve gotten to do some pretty crazy things working for Southwest (surprising Employees with $10,000, dressing up as a plane at our Milwaukee tailgate, flying as a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day…) but this special event just might take the cake.

If only I could tell you what it is.

Sorry, you’ll have to check back in with us tomorrow, specifically around 8:30 Central Time. We’ll be somewhere in a Southwest city unveiling a very special surprise, and trust me, it’s one you won’t want to miss. Want to see every second, every twitpic, every twitvid I can capture during my time in the air and on the ground? Follow @southwestair and @pookypug (that's me!) on Twitter—I’ll be giving updates throughout the day.

Looks like it’s time to go back undercover—my camo face paint is wearing off.

I flew Southwest for the first time on April 15th to see my daughter in Portland. It was also my first time flying as a handicapped person. I was very anxious to say the least. My daughter told me everything would be OK. She was wrong. It was FABULOUS!!!! Southwest more than exceeded anything I imagined. Everyone was so accomodating I didn't feel like a burden. Plus I arrived to my destination feeling ready to go rather than ready to go to bed. We even had an unexpected plane change and it was so seamless it was as if I never moved from my seat. My return home was just as easy. I would highly recommend Southwest to anyone flying but especially to a person who needs extra assistance.

No, I hope it means you are going to Charleston, SC. Either way, I love flying Southwest and you are my choice of travel.

Could it be Charlotte, North Carolina? I know they go to Raleigh but I have friends in Charlotte! Come on Southwest, pull through like you always do!

Don't think it will be a new destination. She said she will be in a Southwest city. But I could be wrong...you never know!

Hopefully it means you will begin having flights out of Yuma, Az to Phoenix, Las Vegas & San Diego!!!

I think it might be the return of N945WN which was whisked off under the cover of night and hidden at BFI... rumour has it that it was seen with gray winglets, which means its going to be a special livery. How about some free tickets if I'm right?

My let husband feel your jets in Milwaukee! I even have your picture! I vote Milwaukee! We were on your inaugural flight out of MKE and I have flown Southwest 3 times since that flight! Just got back from Portland Tuesday. Southwest is now my new preferred airline. Keep up the good work!

I think some of you are missing the point. No one ever said that they were announcing a new city anytime soon... The Tampa news media reported earlier today that there will be a big surprise at a hangar at TPA in the morning and Southwest is going to have a lot of people there. My vote is for the unveiling of the 'Florida One' aircraft. :) --

I'm hoping SW will fly to Charleston, WV! NO ONE flys from Phoenix to Charleston, WV. It's an all day trip to try to get there from here.

I flew from Albany, NY through BWI, with a final destination San Diego. I was hoping to see some Earth Day recognition today, will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

You shoud get a 'real' spy involved in this - like Brenda Priddy, the famous car spy!

I second the comments made by Ann. Southwest Airlines is the only airline that has been accomodating to me for my disability. I had enough legroom in the front row of seats to extend my crippled leg out in front of me. My leg gets extremely uncomfortable if forced to be in one position for very long. Southwest gives a simple word like "service" a whole new meaning. Thanks Southwest. Please, NEVER change!

I am willing to bet a lot of money that its the return of N945WN (you can't hide a plane from me, guys!) in a special Florida related paint job. Especially considering service starting at a brand new Florida airport in May. So what do I win if I am right? James

Please, please please...Red Eyes from the West coast! Its so hard to go east; you waste an entire day. Would be so nice to fly out at 10pm and arrive at 5 or 6am...

Greenville-Spartanburg, SC? That would be a great location for them on the I-85 corridor where there is a current hole in Southwest service in the southeast.

This is probably a Florida Livery for a Southwest Plane

This is all a reach but, I bet this is an unveiling of a new State theme. N945WN might be called "Florida One". On March 18th, N945WN was spotted at BFI (Boeing Field) in Washington. I believe that most planes that WN gets new from Boeing already have the Southwest.com winglets on them. This one only has the solid grey ones http://www.flickr.com/photos/smartjunco/4444043373/. So do all of the other WN state themes: Nevada One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/spkerstiens/3907387133/ California One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandsy/4180340846/in/pool-swa-ca1 Arizona One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/runway27r/2267196929/in/pool-swa-az1 Illinois One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/caryliao/4405467928/in/pool-swa-il1 Lone Star One - Does not have Winglets yet, it is an older -300 model. New Mexico One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/spkerstiens/2972193861/in/pool-swa-nm1 Maryland One - http://www.flickr.com/photos/airpics-sergio/4418889380/in/pool-swa-md1 Just a thought, but that's what a small group of aviation photogs are thinking right now in Tennessee. Just bring on Tennessee One next! PLEASE!!! 🙂

i know this is off topic, but i want to say it anyway. the last time i went to see TX relatives, i told everyone big enough to listen (when i got home) that SW staff are the absolute best! they're all sweet, smart and funny. what a pleasure to fly SW. i am blessed. (going again the 20th). kudos, y'all!
