Orlando, Florida, is known for its world-renowned theme parks. While you’re visiting, there is even more in Orlando to explore. Read on to uncover the many adventures that Orlando has to offer.

Go Explore

  • Wild Florida is Orlando’s only airboat AND gator park adventure. They boast more than 200 animals, including zebras, sloths, lemurs, and Watusi. If you’ve ever had a dream of becoming an animal keeper at a zoo, they can fulfill that dream for you when you sign up to work alongside their knowledgeable animal keepers for a day.

  • But, say you really want a visceral Floridian experience. If so, seek out Gatorland. Gatorland is one of Orlando’s oldest attractions and is known as “The Alligator Capital of the World.” Founded by Owen Godwin in 1949, Gatorland gives you the opportunity to witness thousands of gators and crocodiles relaxing in their natural habitats. In addition, the park features a free-flight aviary, petting zoo, one-of-a-kind animal shows, zip-lining, and off-roading experiences.

Let’s Play

  • Buena Vista Watersports has all your water-based needs. Rent jet skis and zoom away on Lake Bryan, the 450 sports acre that is surrounded by tropical foliage and beautiful cypress trees. Never been on a jet ski? No worries. Buena Vista watersports also offers lessons by professional instructors to ensure your safety and fun.

Grab a bite

  • Orlando’s culinary scene features food from every corner of the world. With restaurants like Domu and The Glass Knife, you can explore both the depths of traditional Japanese cuisine and the sheer delicacy of French pastry all in one night.

  • If you’re looking for a nightcap, head over to the Diners’ choice of 2018 - The Pharmacy. A play on the 19th-century Apothecaries, The Pharmacy is known for its real and fresh cocktail ingredients.

Take it all in

  • Soak in the sites at Kennedy Space Center, where you can seek inspiration amongst some of America’s greatest aeronautical feats as they blast off into the Orlando sky.

  • The Wheel at ICON Park will give you and your family the opportunity to touch that very same sky while you coast through the air on this 400-foot luxury Ferris wheel.

  • If you’re looking for something a little less exhilarating, the Black Bear Wilderness Trail will calm your senses. Tropical and lush, the 7.1-mile walk skates the St. Johns River, which makes it easy to navigate and enjoyable to experience.

We hope this inspires your next trip to Orlando—Southwest can take you there!
