Going Green: Make it Count at Work

I know how lucky I feel to be working at Southwest Airlines.  The airline industry is an exciting one, but one that is full of uncertainty, as the last 11 years have shown.  I can’t imagine working anywhere but Southwest where I feel like I matter to our success.  As the $5 A Day Campaign and other initiatives show,  small changes can lead to big results.   So, for this edition of Going Green, think about what one or two small things you can do to contribute to the success of Southwest – we know environmental decisions make good business sense, so go Green and save Green for Southwest.  Below are a few suggestions – which one will you implement?

  • Bring your own mug or reusable cup to work – save on plastic and paper cups!
  • Don’t print!  Try going paperless.  If you have to print, use the copiers, which save on ink costs and print on both sides, which saves on paper costs.
  • Recycle!  Every time you put a recyclable (paper, aluminum, cardboard, or plastic bottles) in the blue bin, we are saving Southwest’s bottom line by reducing waste pickups and paying for our recycling program – it’s a win-win.

What else do you do to make a difference for Southwest?  Let us know by commenting below.  Have a tip ?  Email us at Green@wnco.com.

DING!  You are now free to be Green.
