It’s that time againtime to spring clean and time for our annual spring cleaning post!  Below are some great tips to help you clean, save money, and reduce the use of chemicals in your home.

Below are some ideas from The Daily Green at www.thedailygreen.com to help you make your home sparkle:

Baking Soda and Water: Dust surfaces with baking soda, then scrub with a moist sponge or cloth.  If you have tougher grime, sprinkle on some kosher salt, and work up some elbow grease.
Lemon Juice or Vinegar: Got stains, mildew or grease streaks?  Spray or douse with lemon juice or vinegar.  Let sit a few minutes, then scrub with a stiff brush.
Disinfectant: Instead of bleach, make your own disinfectant by mixing 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of liquid soap, and 20 to 30 drops of tea tree oil.

Looking for even more money-saving  ideas?

Repurpose: Take those old T-shirts and sheets and use them for dusting and cleaning rags, so you can limit the use of paper towels.

Clean the Air:  Some houseplants—such as Boston ferns, English ivy, rubber plants, and peace lilies—can help clean your indoor air by absorbing toxic chemicals.
