These are just a few of the many questions communication professionals are faced with every day. Measuring the value of communication isn’t easy, but it can be done!
Under the leadership of Linda Rutherford, Vice President Communication & Strategic Outreach, we’ve built a measurement program at Southwest Airlines that seeks to answer many of these questions.
Linda challenges us to look beyond “clip counts” when showing the effectiveness of our communication efforts. Our Measurement Team works alongside our Communicators to set measurable objectives, monitor and measure results, and provide meaningful insights to Leaders.
Linda’s passion for measurement is off the charts, so it comes as no surprise that she has been named to PR News’ Measurement Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are recognized for, over the course of their careers, being influential in advancing measurement practices and applying them within their organizations.
