Happy first Thursday of a new month! I know it can’t be just me who feels like 2021 has been flying by right before our eyes. As we shift into warmer months, our schedule is also shifting from a spring footprint to its heftier summer footprint.

Today, we launch our first flights to and from the ever-popular vacation destination of Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS). We’ll serve three daily nonstop trips to Nashville (BNA), two daily nonstop trips to Dallas (Love Field) (DAL) on Thursday through Monday, one daily nonstop to DAL on Tuesday/Wednesday, and one daily nonstop to Baltimore/Washington (BWI).

Florida has always been a top destination for Southwest Customers. Now with eleven Florida destinations, Customers have nearly endless opportunities when it comes to what beach to visit next. Some people may have even missed out on taking that vacation to the beach last year with everything 2020 had to throw our way. Southwest Airlines has always LUVed being a vital component in Customers’ vacations – flying people where they want to go, when they want to go, in a timely manner with which driving simply can’t compete. We’re excited and ready to bring people back to where they want to be (and wanted to be this time last year)!

Our network plans to support even more Customer vacation plans this summer with additional cities launching service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS). Customers can soon flock to the emerald waters and white sands in VPS with weekend service from Houston (Hobby) (HOU), Kansas City (MCI), Milwaukee (MKE), and St. Louis (STL), with daily service from Chicago (Midway) (MDW). Until then we can celebrate a great start to Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS).

Now that bags fly free® has finally landed in Destin-Fort Walton Beach, make sure to tell your friends and family and hurry to Southwest.com to book our latest vacation destination!
