Here is another great example of the Southwest Spirits in action...both the Warrior Spirit and the Servants Heart. To give back to the community and to work as a team for the greater good. Great job Erin

Excellent peer pressure. We want to be the best...at packing boxes for a Food Bank. This sets a mark for other companies. The difference in good and great companies. Good companies volunteer to help out worthy organizations. Great companies make it a point to be the best at the volunteering work they do. I am sure many realize if this is the attitude of Southwest's volunteers, then the service offered for the flights must be top notch. Keep up the striving for the best volunteers!

I called Southwest to find an e-mail address so I could present a possible solution to the current issues that seem to arise when waiting in line for boarding. It seems that most of the A ticketed passengers are A type personalities and there is always some discussion on weather the bag left at the front of the line should be acceptable for that person to reserve there space in line because they arrived earlier than the rest. Solution might be as simple as this, every ticket has on it base on when it was issued a number. So if you are quick to click on line or weather you are just lucky at the counter it will have a number showing when you clicked or had issued your ticket. So how about we line up in those lines based on that number which solves the on going discussions that seem to happen at ever airport I have flown out of with Southwest. This way if you are quick to click and you wish to be number 1 in line no problem. sit down until a few minutes before we are requested to board and when pre-boarding is done then we all line up based on that number. No more standing for over 1 hour or sitting on the floor in line but using those seats that where designed for our posterior. I hope this goes to the top for review. Yes I am one of those frequent flyer people, over 40 flights this year alone.

Paul, There are already numbers at the bottom of your boarding pass that tell you that.. On your next flight out look at the bottom of your boarding pass, you will see the number...

Hi Paul, Actually Gary Kelly did two posts last year on our seating and boarding methods--the first was in June and the second in October. Those posts generated over 700 comments. Your suggestion is very similar to those we have received from others. Recently in San Diego, we did some test of alternative boarding procedures, while still using open seating, and going down the road, it's possible we may do more.

While we're discussing great news stories about Southwest (notice how cleverly I'm moving us back onto the original topic? 🙂 ), here is a nice article, also from The Dallas Morning News, about how our favorite airline is working to save money and be proactive about being profitable... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/industries/airlines/stories/0506dnbussouthwest.2935ab5.html The best just keep on working to stay that way! Brian, Thank you for responding. I am still a little surprised that Southwest does not have a client relations or support e-mail address. In todays world it like communicating via smoke signals.

Mr Borak, Hi! There are a couple of ways to get age verified in order to get your boarding pass online. You can mail a copy of your driver's license and Rapid Rewards number to: SOUTHWEST AIRLINES P.O. BOX 36662 DALLAS TX 75235 (This option takes about 21 days) Or go to the ticket counter in advance, they will verify your age and from that point on you can try to get a BP online! If you don't have a Rapid Rewards number, just give us a call at 1 800 435 9792 and we can sign you up! I hope this helps. ~B..... Blog Lurker

My husband & I recently flew Southwest round trip from Sacramento to Baltimore. I cannot eat peanuts and asked for pretzels each time the snacks were passed out. I had to keep asking for the pretzels. My suggestion is that the pretzels are carried with the peanuts so that passengers can opt for either one. I know that the stewards/stewardesses are pressed for time ... and carrying both peanuts and pretzels at the same time would please everyone. Other than this one complaint, the flights were pleasant. Since I need wheelchair assistance, the pre-boarding went very well. I am happy with Southwest, and will use SW to fly again .... maybe not soon .... as I am one of those passsengers who does not like flying ... only do so when necessary.
