Nuts About Southwest Gate Game

Well, we had so much fun with the first blogging gate game, I thought we would go ahead and try it again.  So, for this installment, let's see if you can list (in order) the Top Ten Southwest Cities based on number of daily departures (as of April 19, 2007).  The first three folks who answer correctly, will once again, win some inexpensive SWA swag, provided by our very own Brian Lusk. Hint: The highest number of daily departures is 231, with the lowest being 95. Good Luck!

James, Great gate games, though I must say this one is just a bit easier than the last set about the winglets. Although I don't necessarily need more SWA swag, I still can't help but play again, with two added pieces of information just for fun... 1. LAS - 231 - 21 gates, 53 nonstop cities 2. MDW - 223 - 29 gates, 47 nonstop cities 3. PHX - 206 - 24 gates, 42 nonstop cities 4. BWI - 178 - 26 gates, 39 nonstop cities 5. OAK - 142 - 11 gates - 20 nonstop cities 6. HOU - 140 - 17 gates, 28 nonstop cities 7. DAL - 131 - 14 gates, 15 nonstop cities 8. LAX - 120 - 11 gates, 19 nonstop cities 9. MCO - 108 - 12 gates, 34 nonstop cities 10. SAN - 95 - 10 gates, 15 nonstop cities Keep up the fun games!

Las Vegas Chicago Midway Phoenix Baltimore/Washington Oakland Houston Hobby Dallas (Love Field) Los Angeles (LAX) Orlando San Diego I cheated. I just copied Drew's. He seemed to know what he was talking about. Hey, the first three wins a prize. Just kidding, Brian. I know I am not eligible due to admission of cheating. Could not resist the urge. The blog is the first thing I read in the morning after my emails. Had to write something ahead of Leah.

The info I found was a little more updated than April 07, but that's okay - I won last time and scored a really cool lamp! Thanks Brian!!! Aww, why me Blog Boy? 🙂 Ha, ha! 🙂 Maybe Mark & Drew can both win a prize! I'll have to think about my answers before I post. I do want to say LAS is highest, but after that, I'm not sure. By the way, what's the consolation prize? Fact for the day: Pop is spelled pop backwards! I know, I have total random thoughts. SWA LUV! 🙂

Okay, here are my guesses: 1-LAS 2-LAX 3-MCO 4-HOU 5-BWI 6-MDW 7-PVD 8-DTW 9-BOI 10-PIT Can we get an extra prize for knowing the city codes? 🙂 You better watch out for the wrath of me! Ha, ha. You know I'm kidding. :) Fun fact for the day: If you say the words "peep hole" really fast, it sounds like you're saying "people!" You should impress your family, friends, & co-workers with this. I've a joke, too. What do you drink that exercises? Water, because it runs! Ha, ha, ha, ha! I thought of that by my very own self! :) "Will somebody please tell me what's going on?" SWA LUV to all! 🙂

James - we love the blogging gate game. Keep them coming. But maybe, just maybe, make the next one a little more challenging that doing a Google search for "Top Ten Southwest Cities based on number of daily departures" which takes you straight to http://www.southwest.com/about_swa/press/factsheet.html#Top%20Ten%20Airports But - don't make the next blogging gate game too hard for me 🙂 (Or - West Texas Blog Boy needs to check in more often - I missed the start of this one by over 24 hours!)

James, Since I actually DO greatly fear the wrath of Tulsa Blog Girl, I have tinkered with my answers to insure that I don't beat her out, even though unlike Harrison, I can always use more "SWA swag"... How about: 1. Luckenbach, TX 2. Margaritaville 3. Texarkana, AR 4. Texarkana, TX 5. Area 51, NV 6. Branson, MO 7. Truth or Consequences, NM 8. Walla Walla, WA 9. Ninnekah, OK 10.Nome, AK I should point out that I did not cheat by researching the answers online, but instead, used my innate, intricate and thorough knowledge of SWA, their route system and traffic loads to produce the answers. Oh, and I threw in my sweet Mom's hometown just as a tribute to her! Kim External Blog Boy who is intimidated by Leah 🙂

Allrighty, you all....I realize this game was much simpler than the first one. I'm working on one that will make you all really think!! 🙂 Kim, I really enjoyed your answers...they made me laugh out loud. I'll announce the winners sometime over the weekend! I hope you all are doing well! James MDW FA

Ah, good one, Kim! 🙂 Ha, ha, ha! I LUV it. There's one other Oklahoma town (which really isn't a town because it's extremely small) you could add to the list of least number of departures is Quinlan. I have some family living there. I'm glad you didn't cheat. You don't want to face the wrath of me! 🙂 I'm eager to see the winners. I've another joke: Knock, knock! Who's there? Water! Water who? Water (what are) you doing tonight? I made that up by my very ownself! SWA LUV! 🙂

I need to rephrase something. There's another Oklahoma town (which really isn't a town anymore, because it's extremely small) you could add to the list for the least number of departures, Kim; that would be Quinlan! My dad grew up there & I have an aunt & uncle (his sister & brother-in-law) who live there. Sorry. I had a long day at work, so I'm tired! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I better go to bed soon. Here's another joke! What did one box of Bisquick pancake mix say to the other? Batter up! Ah, ha, ha, ha. I made that one up by my very own self, too! SWA LUV! 🙂

Ummm, Leah -- I'd like to make one itsy-bitsy suggestion... Stick to your day job. LOL Sorry, but since your Sooners beat up on my Longhorns this year, the only reason Oklahoma got a mention at all was so I could honor my Mom, so no additional publicity from me for towns north of the Red River! Kim Beaten but still burnt-orange blooded 🙂

Aww, okay Kim! 🙂 I'll do that. Ha, ha! This is funny! "Who told you that?" SWA LUV! 🙂

Okay, Kim! You're right! :) From your black & orange (I said those colors because they're my college alma mater colors-East Central Univ.) pal to the North of the Red River, Leah :) SWA LUV! Thought for the day: Why is called a card table when it's not made out of cards? It has to be because people play cards on it, but sometimes they may eat off of a card table. Well, really, they eat off plates/ out of bowls set on the table. I know, I come up with the weirdest thoughts!
