Office Space

Since I moved offices, I have been focused on decorating my office in my spare time. Southwest allows Employees the Freedom to decorate our workspaces. This allows each Employee to display their individuality in the space where they work. Since I probably spend more time in my office than any other room during one day, I appreciate that I can choose my environment.Katie So here are a couple of my favorite office spaces at Southwest Headquarters. My friend Katie's office is so neat and creative. Another favorite office space is Laura's. Laura's Office laura2.jpg Just outside of Colleen's office is a wall of hearts. Our Company is all about LUV, this wall is a great reminder of that focus. Then also inside her office is another wall of hearts. (A lot of LUV!) Colleen's Heart Wall Colleen's Wall of Hearts I chose a Southwest Airlines theme. This allows me to show off a few of my favorite projects and memories from Southwest all in one space. Office We have many more great office decorations and themes here at Southwest. It is always fun for me to step into someone's office and learn a little about them just by looking around. I encourage you all to bring a little FUN into your workspace. Find a way to showcase your individuality with Coworkers. Anyone else have any fun ideas for decorating the office space?

Hollee, since you titled this Office Space, maybe you need a shiny red stapler? Blog Boy

A number of years ago, I bought a teenager airfare so he could visit some friends. He rewarded me with a model of the very plane he had flown in: a SWA 737-700, with the logo "Nolan Ryan Express," and the fusilage number N742 SW. I treasure it. What you need for your office is a model of your favorite flight. Just don't repeat my downfall: keep it dusted!!! Congrats on the new digs. Walt in Tucson

Ding! boy, Candy corn is much to valuable to be kept in just an office. Actually, my office is crammed full of airplane photos and old airline magazine advertisements like TWA and PanAm ads from the 1950s. Plus a whole lot of SWA stuff. I have a lot of railroad stuff, but that is all on display at the Blog Boy house. Brian

Joe, He's right -- Blog Boy has more plane models in his office than I do, and I thought that I was a plane fan(atic). In fact, I understand that they had to order him a bigger desk than anyone else in the company just so he'd have room for the almost-full-scale 737 that is parked on his desk. I don't want to imply that his office is crowded, but there is a guy at the doorway with two orange-coned flashlights to help you get in safely without bumping into any blended winglets. Kim, I thought you were going to say that the 200 series trainer was moved into Brian's office. I wonder who had to carry it up the stairs? One if by land, two if by sea, 737 if by air? Ding! boy Joe

Joe, Nah, Brian had it crated and delivered to his house, where he installed it in his garage. Now, all of the neighborhood kids think that he's TOTALLY COOL because he's got the biggest video game of any of 'em! But, his wife hates the way the windows in the house always rattle when she hears Blog Boy say in a firm and authoritative voice, "V1...Rotate!" Kim Still Playing Pong on a Black and White TV 🙂

Hollee--thanks for letting me clean my office before you took a picture of it! Good thing you didn't post the one taken from the other direction. As Brian's next door neighbor, I will verify that is office is just plane fun!

I don't have my area decorated at work, though I'd like to at least have pictures. I work in Activities, so I'm out of the Activities Center quite a bit & with the residents. At home, though, I have some of my SWA collection on display; I have letters framed on display, playing cards, last year's (June 2006) Spirit magazine, & other things. I also have a Spirit plane hanging from my ceiling fan & I need to air up my other one an FA gave me on my way home from MCO! Maybe you could post pictures from previous SWA events; that's just a thought. SWA LUV! So Wonderfully Awesome! 🙂
