We are so glad to have SWA flying into NW Florida's Emerald Coast! Will there be an airport shuttle service to the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area?

Southwest BEWARE!!!! Maybe you need to be reading the comments from the readers of the News Herald located in Panama City. Your decision to come to a new airport that 58% of the County voted against will be a doomed. You are choosing to do business with an area that does not want a new airport and DOES NOT WANT YOU!!!!! The only reason you and this new airport are there is because a select few are going to make millions of dollars from the land deals. If you are smart, you'll look into the figures of the number of people that actually use the airport (new or otherwise). It is a doomed venture. Hope your ready to accept it. Read the comments! YOU ARE NOT WANTED!

These flights will be EMPTY during the non peak travel season. Panama City is a REGIONAL beach destination. I don't see people from the Northeast going there...they go Miami, Ft.Lauderdale, Ft.Myers, etc. Panama City does not have a corporate base nor things like a convention industry from which to draw year-round traffic. Pensacola would have been a better choice for year-round traffic. I guess it just goes to show you what subsidies can do.

This is Florida's Last best kept secret to those living outside the Southeatern US. These are some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, period ! Additionally, the area is affordable and has a great supply of New beachfront Condos to choose from. The waters of the Gulf are Emerald Green and the sand is sugary white and the tempertures are milder than South Florida. Look for some explosive growth in this area! Southwest sees the possibilities, thats why they are here and thats why they are the most successful airline in the US!

I am personally thrilled that SWA is coming to the new airport. Thank you, thank you, thank you. For all those nay sayers obviously you do not have any family in any other part of the country or you would be as excited as I am. Grow up people, this is going to help everyone get affordable travel to connect to family and friends.

I live 4 miles from where the airport is being constructed. I am exuberantly excited that the airport is coming to the area! I used to be a flight attendant and hope to work at the airport do any position available. I cannot understand why on Earth anyone would not want the airport there. It may be a tad noisier, but it will make our property value rise and the area around us develop. (I imagine these negative comments are coming from the weirdos who actually frowned upon us finally getting city water....I am soooooo happy to have city water, the old water stained my bathroom!) ************ I cannot wait to have the new airport! Welcome ECP!!************
