Hi and thank you Southwest for your dedication to keeping Americans safe during this Covid-19 pandemic.

I have been struggling with the decision to use the generous promotion you have offered select members.  Since receiving the generous Companion Pass offer good through February, I have scheduled a few flights and have been looking forward to utilizing the benefit that my family earned and used for business last year and the prior year.

As I think about how this virus is being transmitted though, I feel like I'm being irresponsible even planning travel this month.  Currently, I live in Arizona and we have the highest transmission rate anywhere... when you take into consideration, we are experiencing a World-wide epidemic, that means that by being in the public, I am not helping the pandemic, which means I'm doing the wrong thing in support of my fellow human being.

I received an email this morning that announced for some Southwest Patrons, this benefit is being extended.  I was sorry to learn that my status does not qualify for the December 2021 extension.  That's unfortunate, but guess what?  I still love Southwest Airlines and I still respect what you are doing to proactively support each and everyone of us.

I'm saddened that I'll be missing out on such a generous benefit, but I'd rather take your lead and do what is right for my country.  I plan offer support in dollars I would have spent on random travel toward less fortunate people and communities than myself.

Thanks once again for your support,

Best Regards

Dave Evans

I registered for this same promotion for 2022. I had purchased two eligible flights. However, I had to modify my first flight and push travel date two days later. I actually ended up paying a bit more but I kept the same record locater / flight confirmation. My second flight remains unchanged. This shouldn't disqualify my eligibility for the companion pass, right?
