Southwest Airlines, the Salvation Army, and Lost Items

Not applicable
Ever since we announced that Southwest Airlines was teaming up with the Salvation Army, to donate lost items left on our aircraft, the news has spread like wildfire across the country.  These "orphaned" items will help support the important work of the Salvation Army.  Check out this video from WFAA-TV in Dallas.

I'm glad to see that unlike a certain major retailer that Southwest isn't afraid to partner with a religious charity. I've posted about this on my blog and I am inlcuding a link in case you want to check it out.

Very honorable cause. Southwest lost my bag on 01-26-08. Would my property end up at the Salvation Army, too?

Brian, Now that my son has graduated from college and moved back home to mooch off of his parents until he finds a job, it makes me curious. If he and I took a flight and I left him on board, would you mail me the tax donation receipt from the Salvation Army? The fair market value deduction might be a better deal than feeding him and then claiming him as a dependent. Kim External Blog Boy and Supplier of Food to a 6' 3" Continuous Consumption Device 🙂

We left an item on a Flight 112 from Boise to SLC on February 8. I called all the connecting cities and no one could find the item. But they said possibly someone at the warehouse where lost items go may be of help. How do I get in contact with this facility? Thank you, Barbara
