Southwest Customer Spotlight: Taking Flight

Taking Flight What if new experiences and simple human interaction caused you great stress?  This is my son Sean’s experience on a daily basis. He suffers from low vision, Asperger’s, anxiety disorder, and ADD.  When he approached me with his desire to fly from Maryland to Utah to visit a long-time friend for the first time, I was the one who panicked! There was only one airline I trusted to get him there and back, and that was Southwest. Through Southwest.com found out, because of Sean’s low vision, he would have help boarding and deplaning at both airports. He also learned what to expect at each airport during the checkin process. Once seated, Sean felt comfortable enough to enjoy the joking  Flight Attendants. During flight, he was able to comfort himself by playing games, using Southwest's WiFi, and listening to music with his headphones. Sean said everyone he interacted with was very pleasant, and he felt he was treated with great respect and made to feel right at home.  He wants to plan another trip. His choice of airlines? Southwest, of course! Thanks for taking care of my 19 year old, six-foot tall “baby."
