Southwest Named to Customer Service Hall of Fame

Not applicable
In June, MSN Money released its third annual Customer Service Hall of Shame and Hall of Fame survey results. Southwest Airlines made the “good list,” coming in at number ten on the Customer Service Hall of Fame.  Other major companies being ranked among the nation’s best companies for customer service include Whole Foods, Costco, Netflix, Nordstrom, Amazon, Apple, and Costco.

The Customer Service Hall of Shame and Fame is a collaboration of MSN Money and polling firm Zogby International, which ranked 145 companies based on consumers’ customer service experiences.  Survey respondents were asked if they had experience with each company’s customer service and, if so, to rate it “excellent,” “good,” “fair” or “poor.” Companies were ranked based on the percentage of opinion responses that were “poor.”  The survey was taken in late April 2009.

Congratulations. On the flip side, you surely will be interested in reading this post of someone else's experience with Southwest: http://dorcassmucker.blogspot.com/2009/07/plug-for-sympathy.html Here's a bit of an excerpt: "Paul called Southwest Airlines. No, she absolutely can't fly with chicken pox, and no, we won't just switch the ticket to a different day." Now go do the right thing, Southwest. 🙂

According to the Smucker blog, one of our Supervisors resolved this issue. We hope the child is feeling better.

That's a good update, Mr. Lusk. Thanks for doing the right thing, Southwest! Our family has flown Southwest once. Twelve of us went to MO to our son's wedding. We enjoyed flying Southwest. At my request, one of the stewards gave me two red unused drink stirrers with the hearts on top...so I could "sneak" them into the bride's and groom's cups at the reception. So there you are -- I might have given Southwest some free advertising back then. :) Would I fly Southwest again...if the price were right? Absolutely. (Just not with the chickenpox.) ;)

I thought sure I had posted about that wedding at http://www.eaf.net/mvp/ -- but I found nothing. Maybe on their third anniversary (which is on my fiftieth birthday) I'll remember to post a flashback post that includes an expression of gratefulness to Southwest.
