Southwest President Emeritus: Airlines are a business of survivors

Colleen Barrett thought Southwest Airline’s orange flight attendant uniforms "were hideous" and figures the airline industry has probably lost more money than it has earned over its existence.

Barrett, president emeritus of the Dallas-based airline, shared these thoughts and others about employee relations during the 2009 Daimler Financial Services Women’s Conference on Wednesday at the Omni Fort Worth. She was an original employee when the company was founded in 1971and still goes to the office daily.
