Cheers!  We’re excited to announce that we’re continuing our partnership as the Official Airline Sponsor of Live In The Vineyard—an amazing event that takes place twice a year, marrying people’s access to recording artists, top tier wine makers, and world-renowned chefs during an exclusive winner-only experience in Napa Valley.

Sounds like a great time, right?  Well guess what?!  You could be our lucky winner who receives two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines, two VIP tickets to attend the April event of Live In The Vineyard, a three-night hotel stay in Napa Valley, and transportation to VIP events.  Visit www.southwest.com/liveinthevineyard to enter for a chance to win the Live In The Vineyard Getaway Sweepstakes.

As an official sponsor of this event—all things music, food, and wine, oh my!—we support Live In The Vineyard by flying their contest winners to and from the Bay Area for the three-day event, April 12-15 (and again in the fall).  This event will showcase a series of acoustic performances from some of today’s most talented artists including Jason Mraz, Mat Kearney, Richard Marx, Daniel Powter, American Idol veteran Kris Allen, Graffiti 6, Green River Ordinance, Jon McLaughlin, Susan Justice, Mayor Hawthorne, Meiko, and Sidney Thompson.

We can’t keep this great event to ourselves, so to give a taste of Live In The Vineyard to our Southwest Customers, we’ve introduced the official Live In The Vineyard-decaled Boeing 737 airplane into our fleet to serve as an avenue for surprise Live In The Vineyard-related experiences.  During our 2011 sponsorship, Live In The Vineyard hosted surprise Inflight Concerts with recording artists SafetySuit, Mat Kearney, and Green River Ordinance, each performing to a sold out crowd at 35,000 feet in the air!

We’ll let you in on a little secret … a series of Inflight Concerts are currently being planned to “pop up” over the next month leading up to the April event in Napa, so be sure to stay tuned here on our blog to see videos capturing those performances of our surprise artists!

Clearly, we’re excited for what’s to come—you could be one of the Customers to enjoy our next concert in the sky!

I believe pop up concerts on flights are a great, creative way to publicize Live in the Vineyard. Having an inflight concert will make passengers spread the word about Southwest Airlines because inflight concerts are not an everyday, normal occurrence. I hope there is an inflight concert on my next Southwest flight! Andrew Adler Tulane Freeman School of Business Student
