I would like to see more info about employee job/duties! I remember that you guys used to have videos about "A day in the life of" various employees, and I haven't seen one of those videos in a while!

I would like to see a service like this on SWA flights: Cloudclick.info. How nice to 'chat' with a live agent on any travel issue.

I would like to have an A list blog or A list blog site so that the A list members can discuss travel experiences and exchange ideas.

Brian-- I know that this is not the forum for comments like this, but I'm willing to try anything I can to help my husband find his journal. Since you are "communications manager," I thought you might be able to help, and I figured if any airline was going to hear our story and do its best to help us, it would be Southwest. When my husband, Ed, and I returned home from Las Vegas on Monday night, we realized that his journal, which he has been keeping since our 17-month-old daughter Hudson's sudden death from meningitis in May, was missing from the things he packed for the trip. We suspect it must have been left on our outbound flight, Southwest Flight 2743 on Sept. 4 (BWI-LAS-OAK), probably when we deplaned in Vegas. The only flight attendant whose name I remember is Brandy, but we did not talk with her personally. We sat on the very last row on the left side of the plane (if you're facing the front of the plane), middle and window seats. The journal is about 5x7, with a hard, textured cover with multicolored (but mostly green) stripes. It has some pages from another journal attached with a small binder clip to the inside of the front cover. Hudson's name and my name (Mandy) are obviously scattered throughout the journal, and at least the date of her death (May 13, 2010), if not her full name (Hudson Lily Hitchcock Chaney) are written on the inside front page. I've contacted lost and found at all three airports where the plane traveled, as well as central baggage services/lost and found in Dallas, where someone is on the lookout for it. We also have some friends with flight attendant friends who have posted this on the Southwest crew online message forum. Some folks have suggested getting the airline to search crew rooms in all the airports, etc., as we don't know when it might have been discovered and sometimes things get left behind there. As you can imagine, this is a much-treasured item, the return of which would be incredibly special to us. If you or a reader can help us in any way, you can contact us at my blog: http://hudsonsonegoodthing.blogspot.com/2010/09/lost-journal.html. Thank you so much.

Hi Mandy Wow, I can certainly understand your desire to find Hudson's book. I will pass your message on to our Central Baggage Services (CBS) folks, even though in this case you beat me to it, and if the message is posted on the Crew forum, that will cover the Crew Base offices. Hopefully, it will wind its way to our CBS folks (there still is plenty of time for that), but I also have to be honest that another Customer could have taken it off the aircraft. I will keep my fingers crossed. Brian

I always enjoy any article on operations, schedules, and pilot and crew comments on the nuts and bolts of day to day flying.

I'd like to see an article about how you provide parachutes so that those of us who would like to have a stop in BIllings can get there on the Portland to Chicago flight.

Have you done A Day in the Life of a Flight Attendant? I forgot. If not, I'd LUV to see that! :) SWA LUV! Thought for the day: Why are pies round & cakes (at least most) are square?

Hi Mandy, Sad to say don't get your hopes up too high. The truth is, by my A list experience flying SWA, is that the "lost and found" experience is more a miss and only sometimes a hit. I estimate a 90% negative vs. 10% positive scene @ SWA for recovery of such SMALL items left in seats or seat backs. Baggage is totally different. The reason I say this is of personal experience and to tell the truth,,, and the truth is... that seat and seat back "lost small items" tends to be discretionary to whomever comes across it first. I would expect it is up to the discretion of the "other SWA personnel" discovery of the items after the flight attendants depart the plane. (to report certain items found ESPECIALLY during the cleaning of the plane after the last flight of the night.) My heart breaks for your irreplaceable journal and I do hope it is reported and you are contacted. Sincerely,

When I clicked on this link I expected to see comments on peanut allergies. There are numerous reports of people still getting sick on Southwest Airlines flights from previously handed out peanuts even though those haven't been served in a while. I was hoping that there was some comment. Wrong expectation.

Never have I flown with an airline as compassionate and friendly and accommodating as the employees of SW. I've sang all over the Country, now I don't sing anyplace that I can't fly SW. Your baggage central management was so helpful last year when I flew to San Jose and another guest borrowed my cane, from the time I flew to Cleveland, Kansas (MCI), and Dallas (Love) and Minneapolis (2), We have become on first name basis in Minneapolis. What a great way to fly. The comfort of saying Good Morning Betty, a great day to fly lets do it....Armas

I have to commend the pilots that finally were able to leave St. Louis on October 26th 2010. Never have I been afraid of landing, even at Denver where the wind is really tough. Minneapolis was so bad that day and night, they recorded winds of up to 60 miles an hour. Gentlemen my Cowboy Hat is off to you.. That flight scared me, had I thought you would handle it that well I would have had another Scotch...lol SW Airlines never ceases to amaze me time after time with every department that I have had the pleasure to interact with. Ms Hall in Central Baggage I think you are the greatest, The ticket line girls at the # 2 Terminal in Minneapolis are the most thoughtful and accommodating of any other airlines that I have ever flown. The Gals here know me by name so I treat them with my Country CD's. I hope when I move to Addison, I can sometime visit your headquarters and see your home office. I set my singing dates up now to the only places that SW lands. That's how much your company has meant to me. Just make some shorter flights from Minneapolis to Dallas/Love. I am a disabled Sr. that because of the affordability of your airlines has been able to pursue and romance a woman in Addison that 40 some years ago was engaged to me. Thank you, it cost less to fly with you than it does to drive, thank you for enabling love to again flourish Armas Ristamaki

Would like to see more about customer service topics such as baggage, lost and found, general feedback, web site feedback. None of your sites have a feedback contact which is most unusual, but then you have no eMail to the outside world either. Seems like a more robusts blog in the service area would fill in for the unbelievable deficiency.

Why doesn't My Southwest Account profile include ability to designate preferred contact method and flight notification instead of having to indicate these preferences on each transaction?

I want to express our extreme gratitude to your airline.  We scheduled to travel back to our home in Seattle on Sunday, November 6th.  We were alerted 2 hours before that flight that our flight out or Des Moines had a maintenance issue and would be delayed four hours.   This would make us miss our flight in Las Vegas back to Seattle.  Upon calling SWA, the first operator could find no flights that would get us back to Seattle that night.  My husband works for the Seattle Seahawks and had to be back in time for the game on Monday night.  We then researched your website and found a flight out of Kansas City that would get us into Seattle by 10:00pm.  Calling a second time, we got an operator  that booked us on that flight at no extra charge.  It was awesome.  We quickly drove from Des Moines to Kansas City.  We made both of our flights and back to Seattle in time for my husband to get to work the next day.  THANK YOU SO MUCH ...you turned a bad situation into a good one...despite the delay.   We arrived home safely and on time.
