Texas holds a special place in Southwest Airlines’ heart. More than 40 years ago, SWA began flying out of Dallas Love Field to San Antonio and Houston. Like any good Texan rooted in the Lone Star State, SWA LUVs to celebrate Texas Independence Day.

This past Sunday, to celebrate Texas Independence Day, our friends from TexasHumor tweeted from our @SouthwestAir account for a Twitter takeover. They also helped us with some good ol’ fashioned FUN as we boarded our flight from Dallas to Austin, the capital of Texas.

TexasHumor's Jay B. Sauceda, quizzed our Passengers on their way from Dallas to Austin -- an original SWA route--with some fun Texas trivia questions and awarded them all with 'Ain't Texas' T-shirts, courtesy of TexasHumor.

Our thanks to everyone who participated to make this a great Texas Independence Day!

Yeehaw!
