The Campus Reach internship program, which welcomes 400+ Interns each year, is in the early stages of expanding across the United States. Currently, our Intern program is at Southwest Headquarters in Dallas, but, we are currently testing the ability to have Interns in other locations across the country. Our first two locations outside of Dallas to host summer 2017 Interns are Phoenix and Orlando. Read on for an inside look into our two “field” (non-Dallas) Interns.

“Interning as a Field Employment Intern in Orlando has been amazing. When I found out we were the first two Interns to be out in the field, I was intrigued and excited. What a great opportunity to be a trailblazer for such a wonderful experience. As a native Texan, it’s great that I have the opportunity to Intern with Southwest Airlines while experiencing living in an entirely new place. I knew I was in for a treat when I met my awesome Manager and Team, and on my first day at the office I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to help out with onboarding new Employees. I assist in the recruiting efforts for the Southeast region. I am also working on a project to help improve the efficiency of recruiting strategies. I’m looking forward to the exciting projects ahead, along with the (free!) traveling and Intern events. Southwest has such a Fun-LUVing atmosphere and Culture, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Southwest Family.” – Morgan Thomas, Orlando Intern.

“You truly get the best of both worlds being a Field Intern. You get the Dallas Intern experience by getting to know the Teams at Headquarters that work behind the scenes to make things run, and you experience all of the Fun-LUVing events along the way as well. In Arizona, I get to interact with Customers. I travel to beautiful cities all over the West Coast, meet a variety of internal and external Customers, and observe the entire hiring process from start to finish. As fun as it is to travel on the weekends, my favorite part so far has been sharing the good news with candidates that we want them to come work for us. Seeing their excitement truly shows how desired Southwest Airlines is as an employer, and it makes me feel blessed that I get to spend the entire summer working for such a unique, fun, and all around amazing Company.”  –Caitlin Holliday, Phoenix Intern.
