At Southwest Airlines, we are always looking for ways to bring the community together, which is why we are thrilled to have been able to bring the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park in Downtown Denver to the Mile High community for the seventh consecutive season. The rink officially opened today, thanks to a joint effort by Southwest Airlines and The Downtown Denver Partnership, bringing in residents from all over the city for a fun-filled celebration.

Southwest greeted Denver-ites at the rink this morning and encouraged them to lace up their skates, head out on the ice, and enjoy musical performances by artists Zach Heckendorf and Brendan James. During the festivities, Southwest recognized a particularly special guest—Make a Wish kid, Bodhi—by welcoming him to be among the first skaters of the year to take a spin on the ice! Denver’s own Little Man Ice Cream was on hand providing complimentary sweet treats, and Chipotle made sure that every guest left with ‘BOGO’ free burrito coupons. A drawing for a $100 Southwest gift card and the giving away of Southwest seasonal scarves kept the rink’s guests buzzing with smiles and excitement.

Wanna glide on? Right on! The Rink will remain open now until Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017.

To bring some extra cheer to families visiting the Downtown Denver area this holiday season, the Rink will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, hours, and programming, visit southwestrink.com.

Next time you’re in Denver, we hope you have a chance to visit the Southwest Rink!
