Beautiful day for flying.....do you hear me God?? Blue sky and good weather ...please?? I do love SW and do like the ABC method you use. Seems fair to me. Also love the way the staff jokes with you and the Pilot comes on and tells you the route you will be flying and when there is something of interest out the windows. Just a nice touch for those of us that don't fly every week. Thanks for your less expensive prices but please let us book more in advance! It is hard to plan a vacation waiting for you to move your dates forward so we can book. Sometimes it just gets too close for comfort and we have to book another airline which is NOT what we want to do! That is the only thing I have a problem with. We otherwise love SW!!

Many thanks for your wonderful and funny employees! Every flight I have taken on your planes has been the best! I even trusted you to take good care of my husband when I had to send him back home to Texas when his brother died just after we arrived in Maine. Both to and fro were good flights for a non flyer...he raved about the care they took to make him not be nervous! The only thing missing is that we can't bring our little Chihuahua. But I think that you guys are the BEST! Thanks again!

Southwest is my favorite airline to fly. I wish you had a flight from Corpus Christi, Texas to Lincoln, Nebraska. With the University of Nebraska in Lincoln I'm sure there are other that would love for SWA to fly out of Lincoln.

I am one of those annoying old women who believes that "fair" means that everyone is treated the same and everyone follows the rules. So... 1. I check any luggage that exceeds the 'rules' set by airlines. I want everyone else to do the same. Why don't you enforce this? 2. Why do the parents with 12 yr. olds get to get on first? 3. Why can't you make the boarding lines in A, B, C more definitive? 4. Why can't I get my 'trip' and 'return trip' boarding passes at the same time? We often go to a place that doesn't enable me to print out a boarding pass for the return flight and so my husband and I have to be seated in different rows for the return flight. It really doesn't bother me as much as it does the passengers who sit next to him and have to listen to him snore. (I know how to make him stop, so it benefits a lot of SW passengers.) 5. My pets are Miniature Pinchers. Each weighs less than 6 lbs. and both would fit into an under the seat carrier. Both are good "passengers" and don't make any noise. (Even if they did, why would this be different than a parent with a crying child?) Why don't you allow at least one pet carry-on per flight?

I wonder if they make blue duct tape? Southwest is great. I will fly southwest when ever possible. People are wonderful. I recently had a mechanical problem in Tampa. They rearranged planes, accomodated all flights, and I arrived in JAX on time. Customer (not company) oriented. First thought is how to keep customers happy and on time. Keep the group loading. So my question is when will you fly to CLT?

I think Southwest should consider flying pets. They would do a good job as they do everything.I fly to LA every few weeks and back to BWI.When I take my pets,I have to fly United(they do a great job also with pets) however, their scheduleas are not as good to LA.Please consider flying pets.

Wow! Y'all are pretty creative, and I LUV your captions. I also wanted to answer a couple of the off-topic posts under this topic. Christine, the carryon situation has greatly improved with the new security rules. I flew a week ago on three completely full flights, and the overheads weren't even half full. Only families with children under age 5 should be preboarding. We will be looking at our boarding processes, including the ABC lines. Boarding passes can only be issued 24 hours ahead of time because you are actually checking in for the flight. With the current programming, the computer has to wait until today's flight has departed because it wouldn't know on which day you were traveling. As to the several of you who have asked about our pet policy, we know that a lot of our Customers would like to take their pets with them on trips, but for several humane and business reasons, Southwest has a no-pet policy. (Of course, we do allow Customers to bring their service animals onboard, and we are proud to meet this obligation.) As animals are loaded and unloaded into/out of the aircraft cargo bins, they are often scared and uncomfortable. Even though the bins are heated and pressurized, animals travel in the dark, surrounded by loud noises and unusual movements. As they transfer from one flight to another or to the claim area, the ramp is very noisy, and they are subjected to the extremes of heat and cold. Unfortunately, on airlines that accept animals as checked baggage or cargo, there are times when animals pass away due to improper loading or the stress of the situation. Because so many Southwest Employees are animal lovers, we donÃ

Would love to fly into Melbourne, FL on Southwest. Don't like the other airlines...boring....no fun...too expensive(and the food is not good anyway...prefer the snacks). Boarding is okay the way it is. Thanks for making flying fun!

The reward flight redemption has taken a turn for the worse. I'm not sure who came up with the bright idea of eliminating the black out dates in lieu of restricing holidays but that turned an excellent rewards program into the same non user friendly rewards program as every other airline! Allowing the customer to choose any flight at any time was the best thing about the program. Way to be like rest!

Hey Brian, plenty of people commented on the "Pet Topic" , so why don't we open up a topic about pets in the cabin? By the way, I think pets in cargo is a bad idea also. What is the rational of the business decision to not allow pets in the cabin since other airlines make revenue off of pets in the cabin? Don't get me wrong, I think Southwest is a great airline...it would be the best airline if you would just allow my fourlegged child to fly with me!

You airline will never again be graced by my weight again in a preflight W&B calculation. Your dog policy is absurd and never again, even if you change it will I fly with you. I have flown over 10 times this year on Jetblue, and Airtran, and also the "big guys". Not only do I have to drive 100 miles out of my way to an airport I don't won't to use, I'm now told my 4lb dog can't go with me? My first and last time using your airline... I should have trusted my first instincts after seeing the rude behavior of the employees of SW on the TV show.

I've downloaded DING but when I click on "update registration" it says unable to connect to southwest.com. Any ideas? I've removed it and reinstalled a couple of times but still no luck.

Southwest used to be my airline of choice when I travel from Sacramento to Detroit and back (or the other way around). However, since I adopted my toy Shih-tzu a year and a half ago, I've had to switch to either Northwest, or US Airways because Southwest does not allow in-cabin pets. I would ask that in-cabin pets be considered, as many customers travel with small pets. Pets are like family and are very hard to leave out of travel plans!

Hi - about the southwest ding unable to connect problem. The solution is usually simple. select the airport you want to add. DO NOT press update registration (or you will get the unable to connect message). scroll down in the window to the bottom of the page. Enter your zip code (dont bother with membership number) then hit the register button. After you register (at the bottom of the page) you will be able to update your registration by clicking the "update registration" button. If that doesn't work make sure ding is allowed on your firewall settings.

Regarding the "unable to connect to southwest.com" problem with Ding registration - if you are running IE7 you need to turn off the popup blocker for the registration trick to work. After that it seems to work ok with the popup blocker on.

Re traveling with pets: I use SWA to get to business meetings. I love dogs but the last thing I want on a crowded commuter flight is a dog sitting next to me. I hope they never change this policy. Gary

OK, I'm struggling with the Ding! I've had it ever since it started and now it isn't working so I deleted it from my systam and have tried to reinstall it (in every way possible, through aol, internet explorer, with and w/o firwall up etc.)but to no success! I keep getting "Unrecoverable error: Unable to load Ding! Configuration files" It was working fine and then this HELP!!!

My husband and I both like to fly South West. However like the lady with the small dog, I wish very much that South West would allow small animals in the cabin. I have a small African Grey parrot and would fly much more often rather than drive, if I could take him with me on the plane. Other than asking for a peanut and an occasional, hello, no or why, he is a very quiet bird. He would easily fit in his carrier under a seat. He is used to being around other animals as long as he is in his cage, he doesn't bother about them. In traveling by car the only problem has been other people's curiosity about him. Being very tired and hungry one evening I slipped him in a large purse and into the back of a MacDonald's restaurant. No one but the children in the restaurant knew he was there. Please reconsider your pet rules. We really enjoy your flights. Mary Moore

I can't get DING to work either! I have tried everything possible (disabling the pop-up blockers, making sure firewall allows the urls, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc etc etc). Ding used to work on my computer. About a month ago, when I clicked on the latest offer to see what it was, it wouldn't open! That's when my trouble started. The installation goes good but then I can't get to the registration page. I get the red exclamation point and the communication error message. PLEASE HELP! I want to book more flights!!!
