Southwest Airlines is carefully tracking the winter storm system affecting our operation in the Northeast and Central United States to modify our operational plan reflecting changing conditions.

As of 1:30 PM CST, today Southwest Airlines had proactively canceled due to weather:

  • Fewer than 120 flights systemwide on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015;

For context, Southwest Airlines had 3,448 flights scheduled systemwide today. Our main focus is on the Safety of our Customers and Employees, while making sure our flights operate safely to their destinations.

Operational planners at Southwest are coordinating with our Meteorologists to track the progress of the storm and evolve our Customer accommodation policies, which are already being updated at this link on Southwest.com.

  • Fewer than 100 flights systemwide on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015;

For context, Southwest Airlines had 2,960 flights scheduled systemwide today. Our main focus is on the Safety of our Customers and Employees, while making sure our flights operate safely to their destinations.

Operational planners at Southwest are coordinating with our Meteorologists to track the progress of the storm and evolve our Customer accommodation policies, which are already being updated at this link on Southwest.com.
