A-list Question

If I have a flight already booked for Nov 29th and I reach A-list status a couple weeks before my flight date, will I automatically be assigned an A-1 - A-15 boarding position for that flight?

Solution

A1-15 boarding positions are not assigned to A-List, those are for flyers who purchase Business Select fares or the updraded boarding at the gate. A-List flyers are assigned positions A16 and higher with A-List Preferred getting assigned first, then standard A-List. As long as you have earned A-List and it shows up on your account at least 36 hours prior to departure you should get the appropriate boarding position.

Side note: if you have booked your trip as one-way tickets you could in theory qualify for A-list on your return leg if the outbound leg was the one that put you over the threshold.

If you have a round trip booked, the processing of the points/legs won't complete until after your trip is also completed.
