Baby Identiciation

So we currently cannot find our baby's birth certificate and we are supposed to be heading out on a flight on August 7th. I was wondering if we are able to use his social security card as a form of identification because we are afraid of not getting a replacement in time for us to leave on our flight.

You won't need any ID to clear TSA Security.

If your baby will be a lap child (no ticket), anything that documents age will be OK with Southwest.. Baptismal certificate, hospital records, etc. If it is obvious

that the child is no where near 2, you probably won't even need that.

Since the SS card does not list age, it would not work.

Officially, here is what SW says about lap child IDs: "Bring a government-issued ID, such as a birth certificate or passport, for infants and toddlers flying as lap children."

Do you have a photo of the birth certificate? We have always just used that instead of the actual document.
