Why does a child in a booster seat have to sit in the window seat? Why not in the middle?

A car seat in a middle seat could potentially impede the evacuation of a passenger sitting in the window seat if it were to be necessary.

And, as long as there's no one in the window seat, the car seat can be in the middle (with the adult passenger on the aisle).
