Does Southwest allow duffle bags as carry ons as long as it fits the dimensions? I just want to make sure before I show up for my flight with my duffle bag as a carry on and my backpack as a personal item. Thank you in advance!

Yes, HRLovell, as long as it fits within the dimensions, it will be a carry on. Dimensions are 10 x 16 x 24 inches for carryon per https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/index.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-BAGS.
There are limits to your backpack as well, and dimensions are 18.5 x 8.5 x 13.5 inches.
