Changing Planes and Boarding

Someone asked a similar question but I was hoping for some clarification.

I am flying from Sacramento to Ohio with a plane change in Denver. When I check in 24-hours before for my 5am flight I get a number. Let's say A16.  Am I checked in for my flight from Denver to Ohio? Or do I need to check in again at 1pm when my flight leaves from Denver?

Do I get 2 boarding passes when I check in at Sacramento? If not how do I get on the plane in Denver?

I am a little nervous about this new experience of changing planes.  As much details as possible is appreciated.

Thank you!!

You only check in once.  When you go to ptint, two boarding passes will ptint out.
