Expedited Boarding

Wouldn't it make sense to begin boarding in reverse order, from the rear of the plane with "C" group first, filling the last 10 rows or so, then the "B" groupers filling  in the next 60 seats in  mid section, then "A" group boarding  last ,  filling the the front of the plane. "Carry ons" to be taken with passengers  to their seats, not stowed along the way.. I think this loading in reverse order would cut 15 minutes off the boarding time. . Late arrivals would sit in the leftover seats at the front, saving them from  having to climb thru 30 or 40  rows to the back, and then find no overhead space left, further wasting time....Placards could be used to designate "C, B, A" group seats.

Have you flown on Southwest?

Southwest uses open seating, not assigned seats. Passengers take any seat they like.
