First time using app for a flight, what happens after I check in 24 hours before flight?

This’ll actually be my first time flying alone. I’m not checking a bag so I know I don’t have to go to a check in desk. When I press “check in” 24 hours before the flight (I want to get an early boarding group), does that give me a boarding pass I can use from my phone? Thanks.

Yes checking in with the app does give you a boarding pass and the ability to save it on your phone.

Once you get your boarding pass only the TSA and the gate agent that lets you on the plane need to see the boarding pass.

You cannot check in  in anywhere more than 24 hours before your departure time. It has to be exactly 24 hours or less.
