Flying with anxiety

My son will be accompanying his girlfriend on a flight and she has severe anxiety when flying.  Is there any way to guarantee that at check-in they will be assigned consecutive boarding passes or at least ones close enough that they can be seated together?  Or would there be a pre-boarding option for them?   They do plan to purchase tickets as one transaction.

Thank You,

A Concerned Mom

Buying the two tickets on a single reservation will result in them getting sequential boarding positions.  To eliminate any concern about getting a decent boarding position purchase the EarlyBird Check-in so they don't have to be concerned with checking in exactly 24 hours prior to departure.
