I think a better title of this thread would be, "How Not Respecting the Rules and then Getting Upset when You're Not Given a Pass on Them that You Apparently Expect for Some Reason can Ruin the Start of a Family Christmas Vacation," but that's probably too long. 😉

I don't think it is accurate that a half-pound over is typically passed through either. I've juggled several times to get under 50 lbs. Maybe the curbside guy is a little more lenient than inside, but that guy also gets tips.

Yeah, I've never known that to be true. That would be a liability that affects their own cohearts (baggage handlers), so I don't see it happening.
