Traveling with Child

Hello! I will be traveling with my child (7 years old) tomorrow. Does she need identification to board? Will we be able to pre-board with the family boarding? Just want to make sure we get everything taken care of today before hand.

Solution

If you are flying domestic (within the United States) ID is not required for anyone 17 years of age or younger.  Family boarding is for kids 6 and younger so you will need to board in your assigned boarding positions.  Be sure to check in 24 hours prior to departure to obtain the best available boarding position.  Enjoy your trip!

There is no "family pre-boarding", only "family boarding".  Family boarding occurs between group A and B.  For you to have family boarding, you must have an individual under the age of seven.  Then, that individual can be accompanied by up to two adults.

The first people on the plane are pre-board who self-declare a disability that requires a specific seating arrangement.
