I am taking my 1 yr old on a flight in November. I was planning on her being a lap passenger. I had read if the flight is not full I can bring a car seat on the flight free of charge. When should I call to check flight capacity? Or should I just bring it to the gate and check it in their if there is no room on the flight?
Thanks!

You will not be able to determine ahead of time if there will be a seat available. You would need to go to the gate and discuss the situation with the gate agent. You can take the car seat with you, but be prepared to gate check it.
