Is there a long distance to walk in Richmond, VA airport from check in desk to boarding area?
My husband doesn't walk well.

If there is a long walk, when you book your ticket, you can put on there that your husband needs a wheelchair. There are employees from Southwest that will meet him with the wheelchair and that will push him through the airport.
Then when you land at your destination, there will be someone waiting with a wheelchair within the jetway or ramp to push your husband through your destination airport.
If you need to make this change, I believe that you can call SWA customer support, and they can make the change for you

FYI, the wheelchair staff are not Southwest employees.

I haven't flown through RIC but you could get a wheelchair if you think it will be too far.
You might also contact the airport and ask about the distance if no one responds here.
