Are the seats in Business Select bigger than the ones in the rest of the plane?

Hi @AshleyBoAshley,

That would be a no. All the seats onboard our aircraft are the same size. The only difference between some are the leg room space.

Business Select only means that you upgrade your boarding pass to get on the plane sooner and get to pick the seat you want before everyone else gets on board. So business select is the boarding groups "A1 - A15"

Southwest only has a single cabin -- all seats are the same.

The confusingly named "Business Select" fare is just a full-priced, refundable* fare, that comes with some perks:

  • Guaranteed A1-15 boarding

Be one of the first to board with priority boarding. Pick the seat you want and have room for your carryon bags.

  • Skip the lines with Fly By®

Breeze through ticket counter and security checkpoint lines faster with Fly By® lane access*. Rapid Rewards® A-List and A-List Preferred Members also get access to Fly By Priority Lanes.

  • Have a premium drink on us

Enjoy a premium drink onboard your flight with a coupon valid for use on day of travel.

*You must be 21 years or older to drink alcoholic beverages.

  • Earn extra Rapid Rewards® points

*You'll lose refundability of this (and any other "refundable" fare) if you make any changes to the itinerary at any time. On "refundable" fares, never use the change flight function, always cancel and rebook.
