Drink Coupons

Is there a trick to getting SW drink coupons? I've been flying Southwest solely for nearly 15 years now, rougly 8 flights per year. I'm an A-lister and also hold a Companion Pass via my SW credit card spend. I have never been offered and Ive never recieved a single drink coupon.  What gives? Are there certain requirements in order to receive them?

Solution

Mainly that you have to opt-in to receive them.

Go to your account, to your profile, and then to the travel tab and make sure you are opted-in.

That's good - it's the most common reason people have posted on here that they didn't get them, but there are a few other suggestions:

  • If you use Twitter it might be fasted to reach out to them by direct message and see if they can see it from their side.
  • Make sure your address is updated, maybe they are sending them but going to an prior address.

Never knew about this until today, and made the necessary change.  I was sent some late last year, but based upon the letter they were attached to, it sounded like they were sending them to all RR members.

I recently found that out too. Come on, SWA. Why defer your loyal customers to opt out of the coupons who have been previously opted in? For shame!

Huh?

Southwest doesn't turn off your coupons. Once the option is on, it stays on til you turn it off.

8 flights per year is not enough - you need to fly at least 10 before they start sending you drink coupons. I'm not sure if they base it on calendar year or a rolling 12 months?

The flights do not have to be in the same year. So if someone takes 5 years to get in 10 paid flights, then that person would get drink  coupons upon completion of the 10th flight.

Did you get it resolved yet?

Any new information that you found out after talking to Southwest? I want you to start getting your coupons!
