Experiences with Carry-On

Has anyone successfully been able to travel with an entire destkop computer tower as carry-on or checked luggage? Was it a hassle, and how did you go about doing it? I have a flight coming up, and I would like to bring my computer with me. I can put my mouse and keyboard in a handbag, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to transport the tower itself.

Don't check it.

Unless it's one of those old school enormous towers you should have no problem carrying it on.  Think about its size compared to a roller bag that gets put in the overhead bin.

It's a mid-tower case with the dimensions of 8.3 in x 18.3 in x 18.5 in and I'd say it weighs roughly 25 lbs. I planned on taking out the GPU and securing it safely in my handbag.
