Uber/Lyft drivers are no more safe than other drivers.
As a matter of fact the only wreck I've had in the last 15 years was in a Lyft car on the way to DFW airport. The car was going too fast of a wet road. Car met semi. It could have been very bad, but wasn't. I wasn't hurt, but I suspect the driver needed an underwear change as one of the semi's wheels probably got to within 8 inches of his head.
The point is, if you put yourself in any vehicle regardless of who the driver is, your chances of dying in a wreck are far greater than your chances of getting and dying from COVID that was acquired on a plane.
