Do I have to look for my luggage and change it on each plane I make?

No, not if your travel is all on one reservation and you are not flying into the United States from an international location. When you check-in your bag will be tagged with your final destination and you will get it there.

This is in theory, and correct 98% of the time.  I have no idea how many times I've flown, (hundreds) of flights, so 2% or less is correct.  I've flown a couple of times with a connecting flight where my bags didn't make it there.  They eventually got delivered to me and have never been lost.  The frustration was softened both times by getting a nice travel voucher out of it.  Just had to wear my travel clothes for an extra half a morning.
