Hello,
I am relocating to Seattle for a contract job.
I have two checked bags plus a carry on and personal item.
My cross country flight (Southwest) arrives around midnight at the SEA airport.
I would like to spend the night air side and then pick up the bags first thing in the morning.
I was wondering if I there would be an option to tell Southwest to hold my bags for pick up first thing in the morning ?
thank you in advance

Are you planning to sleep in a chair at the gate?
You can't "tell Southwest to hold my bags", that's not an option and will lead to problems for you. Similar questions have been asked before and my response is Southwest is not a bag storage company. Purposefully leaving your bag is abusing the system and there is no guarantee of what would happen to your bag. You do what you want. I'm still just puzzled about sleeping airside.

Yeah, I’m not so sure about sleeping there - be sure to check to make sure that they don’t escort everyone off the airside at a certain time because I know that they do that for certain airports.
You could not pick up your bag from baggage claim but that increases the risk of someone mistakenly taking your bag. I would get the bag, especially if you’re staying overnight. It’s a completely different story if you want to get your bag an hour late because you wanted to eat at some airport restaurant but leaving it overnight can cause a lot of issues. Most likely, you’ll be able to get it in the morning at the BSO if you show ID but I wouldn’t risk it.

There are several hotels near the airport that should have shuttles running.

FWIW I had a friend whose bag was stolen from baggage claim at SeaTac. No way I would leave a bag. As others have pointed out, this is not an accommodation to expect from an airline. Plenty of hotels nearby.
