what aircraft have scimitar winglets?

are they put on at 4 year heavy checks or not fitable on the old Boeing wing?

Were they cross wind tested if the bottom  of it hits the runway?

Southwest flies three types of aircraft :737-700, 737-800, 737 Max8.  All three type have split scimitars (not sure if all 700s have been retrofitted yet).

The FAA would not have certified the use of them if there was a concern about their use at any point in time of the flight envelope - including cross wind landings.

What testing was done to make sure the bottom edge of tip does not

hit ground in crosswind

Also they do not look look very good. If they are removed I will fly on the airline for 5 years more each season.

As an aerospace engineer,  I could explain what they are for and why they don't be removed.   But as an English speaker,  I have absolutely no clue what you just said.

I view an airplane as artwork and prefers aircraft without them.
