Converting Travel Funds to Rapid Rewards Points

We understand that some Customers whose trips were impacted by COVID-19 may not be able to use their travel funds. If this applies to you, and you purchased a nonrefundable fare, we have enabled the capability to convert your travel funds to Rapid Rewards Points, which never expire and can be used to book travel for anyone.


How to Convert Your Travel Funds

Log into your Rapid Rewards Account on, and choose the View Travel Funds button at the top right of the page.

If your travel funds are already linked to your account:

After selecting the Convert for points link, a pop-up will display the upcoming transaction. The Member must then select Convert fund to complete the conversion.

Travel funds must meet the following qualifications in order to be able to convert funds:

  • Customer must be a Rapid Rewards Member.
  • Travel funds that expire September 7, 2022 or were created by canceling a ticket between March 1, 2020 and September 7, 2020. Funds created after September 7 will hold the standard one year expiration.
  • The first and last name must match what is on their Rapid Rewards Account.
  • Travel fund must originate from ticket purchased on, Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent, or a Customer Support and Services Representative. 


NOTE: Travel funds from corporate tickets (SWABIZ, SPS, BBR) are not eligible for this unless their company specifically requests this for their travelers.
