Add current purchase to rapid rewards

I just bought a flight home for Christmas and then became a member (should have done the other way around). Is there a way to apply my rapid rewards number to that purchase or is it too late?

Hi 

Go to the Southwest Airlines website. At the top of the page click on Flight/Hotel/Car. Now click on manage reservation. Now click on add Rapid Reward number.
