Companion Pass Eligibility

I have 80k RR points towards my Companion Pass, but its almost October 2016.  Do I need the 110k points by Dec. 31st to get the companion pass for 2017?  

I just got the Credit Card in June 2016.  

I just opened the card in 2016 but a friend told me the points reset annually on Jan 1, 2017 I will be back down to 0 points instead of having until June 2017.  

Is that correct?

Hi 

The companion pass eligibility is a calendar year!  You only have until Dec 31 to earn 110,000 points.  On Jan 1 your points towards the companion pass will reset to 0

Do I have until December 31st 2016 even if my statement date ends 12/13/2016?  I am like 8k points away at the moment in November, I know I can book a hotel and get an extra 4k on Rocketmiles if i need to. I changed my billing statement to end 12/28/2016, but i know sometimes points take a few days to post, so i am worried say i spend $2,000 on 12/27 which will give me the 110,000 points will they not post until jan 2nd 2017 and i will lose the companion pass.  As long as i have until 12/31 I will have not problem with the other 8K points but not sure how picky they are.

The points have to post by 12/31 if you change the billing statement to the 12/28 the points will post in 1/17.  My statement due date is the 22nd and my points post in about 5-6 days.

To clarify, if were to obtain 110,000 points by 12/31/2016, does my companion pass last 2 years or 1 year?

You'd earn Companion Pass for just the year you earn it in (2016) and the following calendar year (2017). Given that it would be the 31st, you'd likely be using it in only 2017.

Hi. 

If you earn the pass in 2016 it's good until the end of 2017.  Earn it in 2017 it's good until end of 2018.
