Companion Pass - End of Year Points

I am close to Companion Pass for 2022. I think I can get there with a trip and hotel booking. 

My question is that if I travel in 2021 but the hotel points to do not get posted until 2022 will they count for 2021 total? It has previously taken several weeks after travel for hotel points to hit my account. 

Also, if I book a non-refundable hotel, will those points be posted when booked but before travel/stay takes place?

I found the answer. As long as I stay by end of the year even if posted to account next year.

Any points “earned” in 2021 will qualify even if they don’t post until 2022.

Hotel points only post after the hotel stay is completed - even if you book a non refundable hotel stay.
