Earning RR points by purchasing someone else's ticket with SW Credit Card.

Hello! I would like to purchase my friends flight tickets using my Southwest Credit Card and I was wondering if anyone knows that I would still receive the points on my credit card even though the flight would be in her name? Thanks ahead of time!

You sure will..

Anything  you charge to your RR card will result in you getting RR points.

You won't get RR points for their flight though.

You will get the 1x points for any purchase, and an additional 1x points for purchases on Southwest.com. These will count for RR points as well as companion pass.

The passengers will earn the 6x points for a wanna get away fare. These are RR points, companion pass qualifying, and also the a-list tier qualifying points which will only be for the flyers.

Hi! Two other nice folks have already answered your question, so I won't. 🙂 But I will tell you, I buy things for people all the time, if they don't already have a good card they use. They pay me back, and I get the points. I paid for a friend's roof a couple of years ago!

It's meant we've had Companion Pass for four years straight now.

Of course, I only do it for close friends and family that i know will pay me back!

Happy flying!
